What to do in Coron Palawan
CORON PALAWAN – ISLAND HOPPING AND OTHER TIPS
Similar to El Nido, the main activity and the reason why most of the people come to Coron (Palawan) is to enjoy the island hopping activities. As I already explained What to do in El Nido Palawan, I will try to do the same and tell you what to do in Coron: The best tips to enjoy one of the most “off the beaten path” villages in Palawan (after Port Barton).
How to arrive to Coron
To get to Coron from El Nido, the best way is to get the ferry (book in advance if you travel in high season).
TIP: There are many ferrys you can get, but don’t forget that The Ferry from El Nido to Coron takes a long time, so you better book the fast one. Ask in the pier the day before in the morning.
Once you arrive in Coron Pier, just go outside and follow the main road to the village. It’s half an hour walk, but meanwhile, you can check the hostels and other stays.
Where to sleep in Coron
TIP: If you are looking for a unique place to stay, go directly to the Krystal Lodge. The place is very basic, made of wood, but it’s been built over the water, and you will enjoy amazing sunsets like this from your room:
Can you imagine staying in a place like this?
Coron island hopping
The main activity and the reason why most of the people come to Coron is to enjoy the island hopping. This is one of my favourite spots for snorkeling in the Philippines together with El Nido and Apo Island.
TIP: There are four main tours in Coron. Choose the tour Coron Island with Kayangan Lake & Twin Lagoons to enjoy one of the best snorkeling and lagoons in the Philippines. You can book it directly at Krystal Lodge.
You will be picked up in your hostel to the pier, and the food will be included during the trip. You will first make a stop if you need some snorkel gear. Bring your GoPro and enjoy one of the most stunning sceneries in the whole Philippines…
Where to eat and have some fun
TIP: If you are in Coron and you want to enjoy an spanish omelette in the best place to eat, dance and listen to some live music, go to Hangover Bar. Zue and his crew will make you feel like at home.
